Chicago Urban League Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation offers entrepreneurs of color the opportunity to start, expand and manage their business. Through business mentoring sessions or networking events, they can gain access to financial resources; supplier diversity certifications may also be obtained as well as tenders for private or public contracts. In addition, Sunshine works with a group of financial partners, including Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives, Byline Bank, CIBC Bank and Wintrust Community Bank among many other organizations.

The concept of Rising Tide Capital is the inspiration behind this non-profit's operation. President Obama has recognized Rising Tide Capital for their Community Business Academy which has helped to revitalize neighborhoods and change the lives of people. 94% graduates went on to establish companies or establish jobs.

Sunshine Enterprises provides local entrepreneurs with help through UChicago Local. The partnership between UChicago Local together with UChicago Medicine enables realigning procurement departments to make use of greater local vendors that have competitive bids. This helps expand small-scale businesses in Chicago's economy and assisting with social initiatives within the University. UChicago Local also links local entrepreneurs supported by Sunshine Enterprises with other programming including Chicago Innovation Exchange or Institute for Justice Clinic focused on Entrepreneurship in Law School and expands opportunities.

Incubatoredu

INCubatoredu provides students with the opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship through the creation of their own startup. Each class is supported by a mentor or coach who will guide teams of students through the program and assist with tasks related to washable feet insoles or social apps; Students have plenty of opportunities to test out ideas while applying lean business principles.

Students will learn to improve their ideas as they progress through the program. It includes market research, idea and customer exploratory exercises, building prototypes and pitches. The process encourages cooperation and problem-solving skills and teaches students to swiftly change to new circumstances.

Every team is competing for funds at the INCubatoredu National Pitch, which occurs every year. This event provides teams with invaluable networking opportunities with investors and helpful advice from top business executives - an event known for the shark tank-style pitching sessions.
